I am a Woman
Finding My Voice:
A Time of Celebration and Renewal
What do you love about being a woman? What do you honor and treasure? What causes you shame? What is your own deepest truth? What has the culture taught you and what do you, in your woman-heart of hearts, know? During this retreat we will create a sacred space together, a holy womb, within which we might begin to listen for, and hear, our own authentic, feminine voices.
A woman who has found her full voice, who can express the symphony of her heart’s passion, her soul’s wisdom, her body’s phenomenal strength and beauty, and her mind’s knowing is a woman who is free to be fully who she was born to be. This freedom matters mightily, not just to the individual woman but to all women, to all beings, because we are not separate from one another. When one woman becomes more free, all women become more free. And as more and more women become free, there is more freedom for the feminine energies, the energies of relationship and connection, of caring and nurturing, to pour forth on a world that desperately needs more, not less of this essential stuff.
Using a combination of guided imagery, meditation, and sharing in the sacred circle, we will support each other in expressing and celebrating who we are as women; what we have given and who we are becoming. Using the book
I am a Woman Finding My Voice (Janet Quinn, HarperCollins, 1999) as a starting point, women will be guided in writing and sharing their own affirmations and reflections in celebration of their unique feminine essence. |
