A Weekend to Change Your Life: Find Your Authentic Self after a Lifetime of Being All Things to All People
A Weekend Women's Retreat with Joan Anderson
October 6 – 8, 2006
Briar Patch Inn

"Who wants perfect? Perfect is botoxed and size six."

"It is possible to go away for a weekend and have a life changing experience."

"It is finally your turn."

~ Joan Anderson

If you have been yearning to find the real you, refresh your sagging spirit, be spontaneous, wild and free, enjoy the present, let go of control, recover a broken spirit, and retrieve the buried parts of you - this weekend retreat is for you. This is your chance to live into your questions, change your routine, depart from the norm, question the status quo, and take back some of each day just for you. Life is, after all, simply a response.

As T.S. Eliot once said, "only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go."
In Joan's words, "There comes a time in every woman's life when she is called to account for herself. Is that time for you now? Sure it will take some discipline, determination, trust, and time. But in the end, you will understand the words of St. Augustine: 'The unexamined life is the wasted life.' So go ahead. Leap off that high dive, though the voices inside you say no. And then, never look back. It is finally your turn."

Joan will utilize her latest book, A Weekend to Change Your Life (to be available in 2006), as a guide for this weekend retreat. This is not a conventional how-to book or how-to retreat. Joan comments, "I can't stand how-to books with their assumption that if we just memorize the steps and follow the rules, we can perfect ourselves." This weekend, filled with the exercises that Joan utilized in her "year by the sea," will provide women with a context for exploration and a sense of community. One of the retreat highlights will be a Harvest Moon night hike and picnic.
