Experience
this once-in-a-lifetime float trip down the
spectacular San Juan River in the company of 14
phenomenal women on an extraordinary journey of
personal exploration.
|
|
|
|
Christa Sadler and an all female crew will lead the raft trip, provided by Wild Rivers Expeditions
(www.riversandruins.com). Wild Rivers has set the standard for the highest quality whitewater rafting and float expeditions in Utah and the American Southwest. As you journey down the San Juan, you will enter a world of dramatic red rock, textured by time into alcove, cliff, and canyon.
While there will be ample time for the exploration of side canyons and the exhilaration of whitewater rapids, the focus of the trip will be on using this outward journey to access your inner self. From the moment you arrive at your hotel on Wednesday evening, until you pack to leave on Sunday morning, facilitator Laura Theimer will lead you on a quiet exploration of yourself. Using journaling, meditation, drumming, singing and special exercises, your three days on the river will provide you with serenity, focus, and some tools for allowing you to move back into your old life in a new way.

|
| Laura
Theimer is a woman who honors life's transitions.
She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in
Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Women's
Studies at the age of 42. She is an avid believer
in life long learning and also that life is our
greatest teacher. Laura has a longtime commitment
to issues affecting women and to assisting people
through challenging life transitions. She is a
dedicated writer and enjoys facilitating women's
circles. Over the years, rivers have been her
steady friends and some of her best and most
beloved teachers. Laura makes her home in
Flagstaff, Arizona today, though a good deal of
her heart belongs in Colorado. |

Christa Sadler
Christa Sadler is a geologist, educator and naturalist with a serious addiction to the outdoors, rivers, deserts, mountains and chocolate. She has pursued research in archaeology, geology and paleontology across much of the globe, including searching for dinosaurs in Montana, fighting off dust storms and overly curious camels in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia, and steering clear of annoyed marine iguanas in the Galapagos Islands. |

|
|
|
| Her
split personality life has her teaching geology
for the Grand Canyon Field Institute, running the
‘four corners’ rivers in the spring and fall,
and escaping to Alaska to run rivers in the
summers. Winters are usually spent recovering in
her home in Flagstaff, Arizona. |
