A Weekend Retreat with Sophy Burnham
June 1 - 3, 2007
Hosted at
L'Auberge de Sedona |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Sophy Burnham, bestselling
author of A Book of Angels and The Path of Prayer,
will guide retreat participants to have their own
experience of angels, of the presence of the Divine,
through a mixture of storytelling, meditations and
exercises. There will be time after each exercise for
participants to share personal questions, doubts, fears
and experiences. The retreat will be experiential – using
song, meditation, movement and pen and paper. All retreat
sessions are composed of periods of meditation, spiritual
exercises, and always the support and engagement of our
own stories and sharing what happened in each exercise. |
|
|
|
During the weekend, Sophy
will cover: What are angels? Does everyone have a guardian
angel? What form do they take? How do you learn to see or
hear them? And how do you know to trust the experience?
How do you know the vision was real – and not imaginary?
Why do the angels come sometimes and not others? Do they
come to children more than adults; to women more than men?
Readings, stories and exercises will help participants
recognize these beautiful beings.
Sophy will also discuss
the wider esoteric branches of mysticism,
forgiveness, purity and prayer. Why pray? What’s
actually happening (scientifically) when you pray?
Are there good or better ways to express the
whispers of your heart? Or to hear the ones that are
sent to you? And what of the spiritual or mystical
experiences that hit like a bolt from the blue and
change you in a flash? What are we to make of this
new power emanating from us? For more information on

The fee for this retreat is $785.
Fee includes facilitated retreat, lodging and all meals
from 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening through 3:00 p.m. on Sunday
afternoon. This weekend retreat will be held at
L’Auberge de
Sedona, a luxurious French country inn hidden next to Oak
Creek in the heart of Sedona. Named “one of the best places
to stay in the whole world" by Conde Nast Traveler
Magazine, it’s the perfect place to step back from your
life and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of
Sedona. |

 |
|
Sophy will offer "Illuminations," or personal readings, to
women attending the retreat for an additional $75. The
illuminations usually cover the three principal concerns of
health, work, and relationships. Sometimes angels or spirit
guides appear during a reading to offer a special message,
and sometimes the spirit of a departed loved one will
appear, but there are no guarantees for the spiritual
dimension works by its own rules and on its own time. Half
hour sign-up times will be available on both Saturday and
Sunday on a first come first serve basis -- others may be
scheduled by telephone after the workshop. |
| |
| Retreats are
designed to incorporate times for quiet reflection,
personal growth, laughter and the camaraderie of other
extraordinary women. Participants will leave the
retreat with resources to assist them on their journey
to living an authentic life filled with passion and
joy. |
